The pro­ce­dure

Composite bonding can be completed in just one visit with no downtime after the procedure. The teeth are prepared using a special conditioning liquid. We then colour-match the composite resin to your teeth and apply it directly. It is shaped, cured and then polished to achieve a natural-looking finish. You can leave the practice on the same day with a confident new smile.

No, the composite material will not respond to whitening agents in teeth whitening products. If you are thinking about whitening your teeth, we recommend doing this treatment first so we can match the composite material to your tooth colour.

The treatment can typically last around 5 years, but this may be longer or shorter depending on how you care for your teeth. The material will gradually wear down over this time, and it will eventually need to be replaced with further composite bonding or a full veneer to maintain the results. 

Treatment starts from £375 per tooth. This is a cost-effective alternative to porcelain veneers, which will cost £650 per tooth. However, composite bonding won't last as long as a veneer, so you will need to consider the pros and cons of each treatment option.

No, composite bonding is not available on the NHS. This is a private cosmetic dentistry treatment. To help make cosmetic dentistry more affordable, we offer interest-free financing to help you spread the cost.
